We Are Resolved

Happy New Year, blog readers! We hope your 2011 is off to a fantastic start and that your hangover is finally gone.

As is the custom, we’ve been reflecting on the year that was and thinking about the year to come, and we’ve decided to make some New Year’s Resolutions. 2010 was a good one for Renegade (actually, it was a great one), but we think we can make 2011 even better. So in 2011 Renegade Theater Company resolves to:

  1. Refresh Improv with new players, new games and new styles.
  2. Set off film-grade special effects 10 feet from your face.
  3. Harness the power of Skype for a special night of Improv.
  4. Make you itch.
  5. Bring back these guys.
  6. Deprive ourselves of sleep.
  7. Make Sarah Diener say some really mean things.
  8. Do the Juggernaut.
  9. Let Julie Ahasay do what she does so very well.
  10. Fit a cast and crew of 30 on the Teatro stage.

Renegade L.A. – Jake Speaks #3

Hey blog readers! After this post we’ll be going radio-silent until Monday, December 27th. So Merry Christmas everybody. We hope you get everything you wanted. Unless your name is Jody Kujawa. Cause screw that guy.

As an early Christmas gift to you, we present the third in an ongoing series of musings, blatherings and bitchings from our favorite L.A. transplant, Jake Neuman! Enjoy. And don’t try to return it, there’s no receipt.

Renegade L.A. – Jake Speaks Again!

We here at Renegade had a great weekend. Packed houses for FEZZIWIG’S FEAST, new players on the Improv team, and an early birthday celebration for one of our favorite people, Evan Kelly. This week we start PARADE rehearsals, do three more performances of the Feast, and hold auditions for THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE and REASONS TO BE PRETTY. It’s going to be a busy week. So, first we’re going to relax by reading Jake Neuman’s latest tale of his L.A. adventures.

Announcing Renegade LA and NYC!

Good Morning Blog Readers! We hope you had a lovely weekend. We did. Last night was the Oeuvre Theatre Awards and it was so wonderful to be in a room full of colleagues celebrating all the great work done around town this past season.

Two of our nominees, Jake Neuman & Erin Muhs, weren’t able to be there as they currently live in Los Angeles, but I made Jake send me an acceptance speech anyway. We didn’t get to read it at the actual ceremony as the award went to another very deserving performance, but we’re posting it here, because he’s a winner in our hearts or some other sappy crap.
