One Weekend Left!

If you have yet to catch our production of THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE, you’ve only got three chances left! The final weekend of shows starts tonight at 8pm. You can also catch the show Friday and Saturday at 8pm. And don’t forget that Renegade Improv follows the show at 10:30 pm and costs a measly $5.

Tickets for THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE are only $15 for adults / $12 for students and seniors. That’s a pretty good deal. But if you want an even better one, CLICK HERE and like our page on Facebook. If you do it today, you’ll see a special discount ticket offer show up in your newsfeed.

See you at the Teatro!

Like us! Our Egos Need the Approval.

Hey, we didn’t get into theater because we wanted to entertain and inspire (okay, some of us did). Most of us got into theater because we didn’t get enough love as children.

So, unless you want to pay for our therapy – and you don’t, Dr. Hugo Brainraper is VERY expensive – you should visit THIS PAGE and THIS PAGE and like them both.

And don’t worry, you do get something in return. Since we’re moving from facebook groups to facebook pages, that means you will no longer be bombarded with messages, our updates will appear nice and politely in your newsfeed. Feel free to read them or ignore them.

But you’ll want to read them. Because liking our pages means you’ll get special deals and offers you’ll only find by being a part of our facebook community.

And, if that wasn’t enough, for every 100 likes we get, someone’s getting some swag. Yeah, you’re welcome.

We love you too. Jeez, stop crying.

Stuff We Like – April 22, 2011

This week the Stuff We Like is the parking in the City of Duluth …

WAIT! Come back! Don’t just click over to facebook. We have a very good reason for liking parking right now. Which may surprise you, since the street in front of the Teatro is currently a mess of road construction, with no street parking to be found.

But, for those of you who don’t know, there has always been validated parking in the ramp behind the Sheraton. Good deal, right? Well it just got better. Because during the construction, parking is FREE after 5 pm.

That’s right, FREE. So take those extra couple of bucks and buy yourself a nice bloody mary (they’re on special at the Zeitgeist Cafe right now) before checking out THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE or another weekend of RENEGADE IMPROV.

Thank You!

The Lieutenant of Inishmore is up, running and an absolute success – but we couldn’t have done it on our own. We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all of the volunteers that put in a lot of time and effort into the building of this show. There are far too many to thank everyone individually, but we consider each and every one of you a part of the company.

This post, however, is dedicated to the businesses that chipped in with supplies to make our set come to life. Below are the Top 3 All-Stars:

AJ Matthews and WLSSD: AJ worked her magic to make sure our floor could be almost completely covered in mulch – 3 cubic yards worth! That’s a full-sized pickup truck filled well past its walls. Thank you to AJ for coordinating an off-season pick-up for Renegade at the Composting and Yard Waste facility.

Sean Bradley and Floor to Ceiling: Any piece of the floor that’s not covered in mulch is covered in linoleum provided by Sean. Cleaning up stage blood is never an easy or a fun task (ask our Gore Girls!), but the linoleum cleans up so well that even Dexter Morgan would be proud. Thanks to Sean for letting us raid his store!

Adam Field and Diamond Vogel Paint: We use a lot of paint. If you were to sand the floors of our stage, you would find layer after layer of paint, chronicling YEARS of productions. Thanks to Adam, we were able to recycle a few mis-tinted cans of paint to paint our walls. Come to the show to experience our beautifully ugly walls in person – they’re a sight!

Thanks to people like AJ, Sean, and Adam, we can spend more of our budget on our amazing talent, giving them one more reason to stay in Duluth. If you or your business has extra building supplies, furniture, clothing, or tools that you’re looking to get rid of, get in touch with us!

For more ideas on what to donate, check out our previous blog post, titled “Wish List.”

One Week Away!

Our production of THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE opens in just one week. And we can’t wait to open the doors on Thursday, April 14th and let you all in to see this bloody, brutal and hysterical piece of black comedy.

We snapped some pictures from rehearsals this week as the set and rest of the tech was underway. We hope these will help tide you over until the show opens next week!

The box the cats and the blood came in. We felt like we were in Se7en. “What’s in the box?!”

“Do you think he’s dead, Donny?”

Padraic hard at work.
