But, we still need an Adult Man and Adult Woman. These crucial, pivotal actors each play multiple characters and provide worthy foils and adversaries for the students. Simply put: We need two incredible adult actors. And that’s why we’re opening up another round of auditions just for adult actors.

We’re seeking one man and one woman, ages 30-60. Auditions will be held on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9th at 6:30 pm. Auditions will be held on stage at the Teatro Zuccone. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. You don’t need to prepare anything. Singing and movement abilities are a plus, but not necessary, as the bulk of the singing and dancing is done by the student characters. But, if you can sing, show us. We’d love to add your voice to the ensemble numbers!

You don’t need to sign up for a time, just show up at the theater at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 9th. We hope to see you there!

New Works Festival Starts Tonight!

The Northland’s theater scene is booming. Opportunities for local actors, directors and designers abound. But not for the playwright. Each year, dozens of productions are mounted in the region, but rarely are any of these new works by local authors.

Renegade hopes to change that.

Renegade Theater Company is pleased to announce that the following pieces have been selected for the 1st Annual New Works Festival at the Teatro Zuccone, October 13-15, 2011:

Concessions by Johnny Watkins, Directed by Lawrence Lee – October 13th at 8pm.

Pas De Deux by Lee Gundersheimer. Directed by Sabrina Zappa – October 14th at 8pm.

Lena Long Legs by Jessica Lind. Directed by Michelle Juntunen – October 15th at 8pm.

These fantastic world premiere pieces will be read during the New Works Festival, which is open to the public. A suggested donation of $5 is requested, and each reading will be followed by a Q&A session with the cast, director and writer where you will have a hand in shaping these wonderful new dramatic works.

Renegade NYC Returns!

Hello Blog Readers!

We are SO excited for today’s post. The lovely Miss Ashley Kuske (she of the original Renegade Improv team and productions like “Wonder of the World” and “Matt & Ben”) has taken up her digital pen again and sent us another blog post over the interwebs direct from NYC. Expect a lot more to come. She’s been living out there for a long time now and has a lot of great insight and advice – and a lot of awesome stories.

If you’re glad to have Ashley back, tell her so in the comments!
