Hey everyone! We’re in the thick of tech and dress runs of FEZZIWIG’S FEAST, and the show is going to be a blast. But, we wanted to take a quick moment away from the land of Dickens to remind you all of our upcoming auditions for Neil LaBute’s REASONS TO BE PRETTY and Martin McDonagh’s THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE.
The general auditions are one week from now, Tuesday, December 7th at 6pm. Sign up for a time slot by calling 218-722-6775, emailing Artistic Director Katy Helbacka, or visiting the Renegade offices between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
Click HERE to learn more about the auditions, and we’ll see you there!
Today, we bring you the first blog post from the founding member of Renegade N.Y.C., the wonderful Ashley Kuske! Read on for the first in her adventures. And, remember, no Improv this week. No more blog posts either. Renegade’s on vacation till Monday!
Today marks the first blog entry from one of the founding members of the Los Angeles branch of Renegade Theater Company, Jake Neuman! Read on for his adventures in La-la Land.
Before we get to the Stuff, we need to take care of some business first:
- Remember that open auditions to join the RENEGADE IMPROV team are this Saturday, November 20th at 2pm at the Teatro Zuccone. Come make fart jokes with us.
- There’s a sale going on in the RENEGADE STORE. From November 20-23 you’ll save $10 on orders of $50 or more if you use the code Friend10. So buy gifts for yourself or your favorite Renegade fan and save. Damnit.
Last night we had a menu tasting of the 5-course meal you’ll be enjoying when you attend FEZZIWIG’S FEAST. And in all seriousness, this is a meal you’d easily pay $50 for at any other place or time of the year. So it’s like you’re getting our fantastically fun version of “A Christmas Carol” for free.
Don’t believe the meal was that good? Here’s some pics we took with a low-res camera phone. The deliciousness still oozes through:
Renegade Theater Company is pleased to announce auditions for the next two shows in their 2011 season, Martin McDonagh’s THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE and Neil LaBute’s REASONS TO BE PRETTY!
GiveMN is promoting charitable giving to hundreds of non-profits across the state on this date by providing access to a secure, on-line gift process through their website. Every hour on the hour, a random donor will be selected and $1,000 will be given to that donor’s charity. You can donate anytime during the day or evening, from midnight on the 16th to midnight on the 17th. While we’d certainly love it if you would take the time to make a donation in any amount to Renegade, here’s another organization that deserves your support:
The Artist Fund was founded to assist regional artists in times of critical and unanticipated need. They have provided assistance to dozens of area artists, writers, and performers since The Artist Fund was founded in 2005. As a 501(c)3 organization it depends upon the generosity of the community to fulfill its mission to support regional creative individuals who contribute so much to our vibrant arts community.
Good Morning Blog Readers! We hope you had a lovely weekend. We did. Last night was the Oeuvre Theatre Awards and it was so wonderful to be in a room full of colleagues celebrating all the great work done around town this past season.
Two of our nominees, Jake Neuman & Erin Muhs, weren’t able to be there as they currently live in Los Angeles, but I made Jake send me an acceptance speech anyway. We didn’t get to read it at the actual ceremony as the award went to another very deserving performance, but we’re posting it here, because he’s a winner in our hearts or some other sappy crap.
The Oeuvre Theatre Awards are this Sunday, and we couldn’t be more proud of our nominees. But that same level of pride extends to everyone who makes all of our shows such a joy to work on and produce.
And as long as we’re talking about pride, that exact same level of pride extends to the theater community in this region as a whole. It’s truly something special to be a part of. So, with that in mind, the Stuff We Like for this week is the work put on by other theaters that we really enjoyed this year. If you haven’t checked one or more of these venues out, we highly suggest you do. We’ll probably see you there:
