 Written by Sunny Helpakka Starring Sunny Helpakka and Nate Kesti The Search For Vainamoinen uses the classic epic work of Finnish literature, The Kalevala, as a launch pad for an uproarious and ultimately moving look at what it means to be a Finn in today’s modern world. An old Finn (played by Helpakka) meets a young American Finn (played by Kesti) when he mistakes the young Finn’s skate ramp for a finely crafted Finnish park bench. In conjunction with the 2008 FinnFest, the message and the magic of this truly remarkable evening of theatre was created by local Finnish artists. Full of passion, wit and wisdom, The Search For Vainamoinen is an entertaining and enlightening journey that everyone – Finns and non-Finns alike – will love. July 17-19 & 24-26 |
